Coca-Cola Comrades #MilestoneMoment Competition Rules

1. This Coca-Cola Promotional Competition (“Competition”) is organised by Coca-Cola Africa (Proprietary) Limited (“Promoter”).

2. The Competition is open to permanent residents and citizens of South Africa over the age of 13 (thirteen) years, in possession of a valid South African Identity Document, except any employee, director, member, partner agent or consultant or any person directly or indirectly who controls or is controlled by the Promoter and/or immediate family members of any employee, director, member, partner, agent or consultant of or person indirectly or directly in control or controlled by the Promoter, its advertising agencies, advisers, dealers, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca-Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies (“Disqualified Participants”).

3.Participants under the age of 18 (eighteen) years, must have obtained the prior consent of their parents and/or legal guardians, and the parents and/or legal guardians must have read and accepted these rules, prior to the participant participating in the Competition.

4. By entering the Competition, all participants and winners agree to be bound by these rules as interpreted by the Promoter, whose decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding. The Promoter reserves the right at any time without notice to amend, modify, or change these rules, and to postpone, suspend or cancel this Competition and any prizes (which have not yet been subject to a draw), or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which the Promoter reasonably deem necessary.

5. The Competition commences on 04 June 2017 and ends on 04 June 2017. During this period, a total of 10 (ten) prizes will be given away via a Twitter competition which will be run during the Comrades Race Broadcast.

6. All social media winners will be notified via a direct message on Twitter, as applicable, and a subsequent follow up call to confirm their details (to do this participant must follow @CocaCola_ZA, vice versa)

7. The 10 (ten) prizes consist of the following:

1x Coca-Cola branded mini fridge

1x case of Coca-Cola 330ml cans (6 pack per variant)

Prize value approximately: R2000

8. Entrants will enter the social media Competition via the use of the hashtag #MilestoneMoment on Twitter. To stand a chance of winning one of the prizes, entrants will need to share their Comrades #MilestoneMoment on their social media page, tag @CocaCola_ZA and incorporate the hashtag #MilestoneMoment into the copy of the Twitter post.

9. Participants may enter this Competition as many times as they wish, provided they complete the entry mechanics set out in paragraph 8 above each time and subject to the following:

a. No automated entries will be allowed and all entries must be made by a natural person manually on their Twitter platform;

b. If any entry was made in a manner which in the Promoter’s discretion provides the participant with an unfair advantage over other entrants, such Participant will be disqualified from this and all future competitions run by the Promoter; and

c. participants are only eligible for 1 (one) prize under this Competition.

10. The 10 (ten) social media prize winners will be selected by the CIC team based on proactive engagement and will be selected via a random draw. The decision is final and binding and the Promoter will not enter into any correspondence regarding the decision.

11. Once possible winners are notified on Twitter, they will have 48 (forty-eight) hours to respond to the winner notification. If the possible winner fails to respond within 48 (forty-eight) hours, the Promoter reserves the right to draw another winner.

12. In order for the particular entry to be confirmed as valid, the Promoter will call the possible winners and conduct a promotional competition verification process.  Participants whose entrees have been selected and have been confirmed as valid after the verification process, will be notified telephonically within 1 (one) week from the date that they have won and have been declared a winner.  The Promoter will advise all the winners when they will receive their prize, which will be delivered to an agreed upon address.

13. All Prize winners are obliged to behave responsibly and comply with the Competition rules and all reasonable requests of the Promoter and its agents.

14. The Prizes are neither transferable nor redeemable for cash. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute Prizes with any other prize of comparable commercial value.

15. Should any dispute arise in relation to the interpretation of the Competition rules, the Promoter’s decision shall be final and no correspondence shall be entered into.

16. All participants and/or winners, as the case may be, indemnify the Promoter, it’s advertising agencies, advisers, nominated agents, partners, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca-Cola Company, its affiliates and/or associated companies against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in this Competition (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of the Promoter and/or use of the prize).

17. The Promoter may request the winners to be identified, photographed and published in printed media, or to appear on radio and television, when accepting the prize or after having received their prize. However, the winner may decline the opportunity.  The Promoter may use the uploaded image in whole or in part, and any reproductions thereof, worldwide for advertising, promotion, publicity or otherwise on any website for any media purpose and for any other lawful purpose whatsoever.

18. By entering the Competition, the participant agrees that The Coca-Cola Company and its affiliates (including the Promoter, subsidiaries, bottlers, and joint ventures) may contact the participant via email and through social media platforms to deliver marketing communications regarding their products and promotional activities. The Promoter may also use the personal data collected from the participant as described in the Privacy Policy accessible at www.coca-cola.co.za and that such use may include transfers to the Promoter’s affiliates and third party service providers in any country.

19. The Promoter may require the winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoter to ensure compliance with these Rules and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Should any winner refuse or be unable to comply with this rule for any reason, such winner will be deemed to have rejected the Prizes and it shall revert back to the Promoter.

5. Participants will receive a R20.00 Woolworths E-voucher (“Reward”), subject to compliance with these terms and conditions.

6. To receive this Reward, participants must purchase any 3 of these products Coca-Cola ( All flavours included), Bonaqua Pump or Powerade (“Participating Product/s”) from any participating Engen Forecourt Shop during the Competition period. The participant must then SMS the unique code found on your promotional card and name to 48446 in order to receive the Reward.

PLEASE NOTE: SMS cost is R1.00. Free SMS’s and SMS bundles do not apply.

7. Participants may enter the Competition as many times as they wish provided they purchase the Participating Products each time and follow the entry mechanics. However, in the event that the participant returns the products purchased, the relevant automatic entry will become null and void.

  1. By accepting the Prizes, all winners agree to be bound by these rules as interpreted by Coca-Cola Africa (Pty) Ltd (“the Promoter”), whose decision regarding any dispute will be final and binding. The Promoter reserves the right at any time and without notice to amend, modify, or change these rules, and to postpone, suspend or cancel this competition and any prizes (which will not be subject to a draw), or any aspect thereof, without notice at any time, for any reason which the Promoter reasonably deems necessary.
  2. The promotion commences on 02 May 2017 and runs until 30 June 2017. During this period, our social media team will determine the winners.
  3. The right to be featured on the Coca-Cola Billboard are subject to Coca-Cola’s discretion. Entry to be featured on the Coca-Cola Billboard can be done by submitting your image on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or on the site using #MyCokeMoment and tagging Coca-Cola in the image.   5. Coca-Cola’s social media team has procured 250 x 500mb prepaid data bundles for the campaign period. These data bundles will be given away on an ad-hoc basis and at the sole discretion of the Promoter during the campaign period to reward engagement & participation with the campaign.
  6. Entry into the promotion does not guarantee a data prize.
  7. Data bundles will be valid for a 30 day period once loaded onto winners mobile devices.
  8. A maximum of one (1) 500mb bundle can be rewarded per individual for the campaign period.
  9.  The Promoter will select 10 x entries captured per week of the competition which will be placed on a Coca-Cola Billboard. The Promotion is limited to being featured on the Coca-Cola Billboard. Remuneration does not form a part of this prize. Entrants acknowledge that by entering the competition the use of winners image is in line with this clause and is done so without any forms of compensation.

27.  All entrants of the competition are eligible to win the aforementioned prizes. 2.     Entry to the  “The Power to Beat Your Best” Powerade Competition is open to South African citizens who are 18 years or older and are currently either legally visiting or living in South Africa. 6.     Monthly prize winners must be 18 years or older (in each discipline category) and must be South African citizens in possession of a valid South African Identity Document or Birth Certificate who also reside in South Africa.

7.     Grand prize winners must be 18 years or older (in each discipline category) and must be South African citizens in possession of a valid South African Identity Document or Birth Certificate.

8.     Participants can register for either of the two discipline categories (running or road cycling/ mountain biking) however they will only be eligible to win one monthly prize in total and the grand prize for one specifc discipline.

9.     A bench mark race time – Is the first ASA (Athletics South Africa) or CSA (Cycling South Africa) registered race time/ per kilometre speed that a participant submits to Powerade. Powerade will calculate the participant per kilometre speed based on these times.

10.   An improved race time -  Is any ASA (Athletics South Africa) or CSA (Cycling South Africa) registered race time a person submits to Powerade where their per kilometre speed is faster than the time they submitted as their bench mark time or previous submission.

11.   Monthly Prizes

Entrants will be required to do the following to stand a chance to win monthly prizes :

      i.        Register at the Cape Town Cycle Tour, Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon and various other regional Athletics South Africa (ASA) and Cycling South Africa (CSA) racing events during the competition period.

     ii.        To participate dial *120*32682# and follow the prompts. Cost of participation is 20c per 20 seconds.

    iii.        Participants will need to submit a bench mark race time to Powerade. This is only necessary if registration did not take place at the Powerade expo stands at Cape Town Cycle Tour or at Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon.

    iv.        Thereafter, participants will need to submit their improved race time to the Powerade competition platform from May 2017 onwards.

12.   All entrants who register to The Power to Beat Your Competition, submit a bench mark race time and an improved race time will be eligible to win a monthly prize. 1 (one) monthly prize per discipline will be randomly awarded per month starting in the month of June. 1 (one) for cycling & 1 (one) for running.

13.   Monthly prizes will be selected via a random draw which will take place during the 1st week of each month. The decision is final and binding and the Promoter will not enter into any correspondence regarding the decision.     

14.   Registered participants will only be eligible to win 1 (one) monthly prize for the duration of the competition. If they win a monthly prize they will still be eligible to stand the chance to win the grand prize.  

15.   Grand Prizes

Entrants will be required to do the following to stand a chance to win the grand prize:

    III.        In the case of mountain biking, the race distance must be a minimum of 30 (thirty) kilometers

    IV.        In the case of running, the race distance must be a minimum of 10 (ten) kilometres

17.   Participants who continue to beat their best and submit more than 1 (one) valid improved race time will receive additional entries into the grand prize draw.

18.   Participants stand a chance to win:

·  1 of 6 monthly prizes valued at up to R4000 each

·  1 of 2 grand prizes valued at up to R150 000 each

19.   Grand prize winners will be selected via an audited random draw on the 4th of September 2017. The decision is final and binding and the Promoter will not enter into any correspondence regarding the decision.

20.   All entrants who register and submit both their bench mark race time and improved race time will be eligible to win a grand prize. One (1) grand prize will be awarded per category. 1 (one) for cycling & 1 (one) for running).

21.   All entrants specified above, are eligible to win the grand prize provided that both a bench mark race time and an improved race time is submitted to Powerade between the 9th of March 2017 and the 31st of August 2017. All entrants are eligible to win the grand prize provided that their improved race time is an improvement on their bench mark time.

22.   All winners (monthly & grand prize winners) will be notified via a telephonic call, email & SMS. They will have 24 (twenty four) hours to respond to the winner notification via email. If any possible winner fails to respond within 24 (twenty four) hours, the Promoter reserves the right to contact another winner.

23.   In order for a particular entry to be confirmed as valid, the Promoter will call the possible winners and conduct the competition verification process. The possible winners of the grand prize submissions may also be verified by Athletics South Africa (ASA) and Cycling South Africa (CSA) should the Promoter deem this to be necessary.

24.   The potential winners whose entries have been selected and confirmed as valid after the verification process, will be notified telephonically from the date that they have won and have been declared a winner.  The Promoter will advise the winners when they will receive their Prizes, which will be delivered to an agreed upon address.

25.   Please note that a minimum of 12 (twelve) weeks are required before delivery of the prize will take place via courier. This does not apply to the grand prize.

26.   The Prize winners are obligated to behave responsibly and comply with the Competition rules and all reasonable requests of the Promoter and it’s agents.

27.   The Prizes are neither transferable nor redeemable for cash. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prizes with any other prize of comparable commercial value.

The grand prize will comprise of a 10 (ten) day trip to Bali valued at R100 000 (one hundred thousand rands). The grand prize is an all-expenses paid trip which includes return flights for 2 (two) people.

8.       Entrants will be required to do the following for a chance to win the runner-up prizes as well as to qualify for the grand prize:

 

a.       Purchase the new Rooibos FUZE tea and send us the unique promo code on their can via USSD.

 

9.       Participants may enter the Competition subject to the following:

a.       No automated entries will be allowed and all entries must be made by a natural person, manually.

b.      If any entry was made in a manner which in the Promoter’s discretion provides the participant with an unfair advantage over other entrants, such a Participant will be disqualified from this and all future competitions run by the Promoter.

 

  1. Participants may enter this Competition as many times as they like provided they complete the entry mechanics set out in paragraphs 8 and 9 above, each time.
  2. Once the possible winners are notified, they will have 24 (twenty-four) hours to respond to the winner notification. If any possible winner fails to respond within 24 (twenty-four) hours, the Promoter reserves the right to draw another winner. The verified winners will be required to travel before 31 May 2017.
  3. In order for a particular entry to be confirmed as valid, the Promoter will call the possible winners and conduct a Competition verification process.  The Participants, whose entries have been selected and have been confirmed as valid after the verification process, will be notified telephonically from the date that they have won and have been declared a winner.  The Promoter will advise the winners when they will receive their Prizes, which will be delivered to an agreed upon address.
  4. The Prize winners are obligated to behave responsibly and comply with the Competition rules and all reasonable requests of the Promoter and its agents.

14.   The Prizes are neither transferable nor redeemable for cash.  The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prizes with any other prize of comparable commercial value.

 

15.   Should any dispute arise in relation to the interpretation of the Competition rules, the Promoter’s decision shall be final and no correspondence shall be entered into.

 

16.   All participants and the winners, as the case may be, indemnify the Promoter, it’s advertising agencies, advisers, nominated agents, partners, suppliers and Bottlers of beverages identified by the trademarks owned by or licensed to The Coca-Cola Company, its affiliates and associated companies against any and all claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of and/or from their participation in any way howsoever in this Competition (including, as a result of any act or omission, whether as a result of negligence, misrepresentation, misconduct or otherwise on the part of the Promoter and/or use of the prizes).

17.   The Promoter may require the winners to be identified, photographed and published in printed media, or appear on radio and television, when accepting their prizes or after having received their prizes. The winners will be given the opportunity to decline to the publication of their images and to participate in the Promoter’s marketing material in so far as it relates to the Competition. The Promoter may use the uploaded images in whole or in part, and any reproductions thereof, worldwide for advertising, promotion, publicity or otherwise on any website for any media purpose and for any other lawful purpose whatsoever.

18.   By entering the Competition, the participants agree that The Coca-Cola Company and its affiliates (including the Promoter, subsidiaries, Bottlers, and joint ventures) may contact the participants via email and through social media platforms to deliver marketing communications regarding their products and promotional activities.  The Promoter may also use the personal data collected from the participants as described in the Privacy Policy accessible at www.coca-cola.co.za and that such use may include transfers to the Promoter’s affiliates and third party service providers in any country.

19.   The Promoter may require the winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement and indemnification to enable the Promoter to ensure compliance with these Rules and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Should a winner refuse or be unable to comply with this rule for any reason, such a winner will be deemed to have rejected the Prize and it shall revert to the Promoter.

20.   The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administrated by, or associated with Facebook or Twitter. Participants provide their information to the Promoters and not to Facebook or Twitter.
